A written application to start electric and/or water services will be required. The applicant must also submit acceptable proof of identity. The application and proof of identity must be submitted in person by the applicant.
If the applicant is renting the premise, the applicant’s landlord must also sign the application before it will be accepted. There will be no exceptions.
If the applicant is unable to make it to the utility office during normal operating hours, the applicant may submit the written application and proof of identity to the Jefferson Police Department (JPD). The JPD will accept these documents Monday thru Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. as well as Saturday 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Also, we will need to have at least three business days advance notice to schedule a final reading.
